2024 - Facilities - Wild Garden
ADULTS ONLY 18+ -
Bring your own tents. Extra gazebo permitted. Some camping equipment can be hired from us.
Maximum 2 adults per pitch for the 2 night booking. Single campers are welcomed.
Each grass pitch has mains water and access to a private utility tent with a Thetford portable flush toilet using eco chemicals. Also a hand basin with soap and towel. It will be serviced by us.
For hot water/showers: An en-suite tent with a gas-fired Joolca hot shower and table with wash-up facility is available to hire on Holly and Dixie pitch. Please book in advance of stay.
This is a wild site with natural drainage, so fewer guests per pitch prevent the ground around the shower/wash-up area becoming too wet.
Our freezer can be available for your ice packs.
Bring some wellies if it's wet weather and a torch.
There is great stargazing on clear nights.
Your well-behaved pet is welcome on a leash. Please respect the wildlife.
Mosquito deterrent advised.

A few extras for hire, 2024 prices
En-suite tent with Joolca gas-fired heater for hot shower and a wash-up sink/table package (Please book before arrival) - £25 per stay
Folding camping chair - £2 per stay
Large camping bed - £5 per stay (bring your own bedding)
Folding camp table - £3 per stay
Portable Cadac gas bbq/grill/table/kettle & tongs package - £18 per stay

Please note: Due to increased costs our prices have had to be increased from May 2024.
Friday and Saturday nights for up to 2 adults per pitch.
Camping fees for the 2 night booking will be £50 per person which includes a private utility tent with Thetford flush toilet and a hand basin.
Additional hire of the hot shower/wash-up facilities will be £25 extra for the weekend stay.
The private facilities are solely for use by (the 1 to 2) campers staying on each allocated pitch.

1-2 well behaved dogs (on leads) are welcome to stay, no extra charge. A dog poo bin is on site.

Parking...
Cars cannot gain access to the wild garden pitches so parking for 2 - 3 cars is on the gravel near the house, or in dry weather down the drive in front of the farm building.
Motor cycles and bicycles are easier to park and in dry weather they can be taken nearer to the pitch if preferred.
A Sherpa trolley and barrow are available for your gear - level mown grass tracks.

Below is the DIXIE pitch in the 3 acre meadow, secluded and surrounded by mature native trees and shrubs.
Ideal for pitching your tent and it will have a private utility tent with portable flush toilet
Here is the mains water standpipe at Dixie pitch.
Also the Joolca utility tent with toilet and basin.
The tracks to each area are kept mown for easy walking.
Rough areas are longer to provide cover for wildlife.
Below is the FOX pitch with picnic table and bench.
The FOX pitch is on the south boundary.
Below is the Verbascum, they seed happily around here.
Here is the HOLLY pitch
...a secluded place surrounded by mature trees and wild meadow with a large mown area
A table and chairs are yours to use during your stay.
Our west facing boundary has views towards the Trent Valley. We 'borrow' the view through our trees from the neighbouring farmer. There are chairs here to relax.
Rosebay Willowherb flowers in July and is loved by bees and Elephant Hawk-moth.
