Going Wild

Posted on

Hello and welcome to my blog.  My name is Anne and I live in rural Lincolnshire a few miles from the historic city of Lincoln.

This is the story of Wild at Heart Garden

The garden is 48 years old.    We came here in November 1973 with my horse Holly and Meg, a rescued dog.  It was the beginning of an adventure which continues as I plan the start of a Wild Garden campsite.

It wasn't a wild garden when we came, the land was arable with a small grass paddock near the roadside.  On this small-holding I reared a flock of free range hens, kept some livestock, milked a Jersey cow and planted fruit trees.

In 1984 I began planting native trees and shrubs to make sheltered areas and wilder parts to encourage wildlife.  Now the trees are mature and the land belongs to nature.

That's all for now...more to come soon.
